Hospice and Home Care Has New Leaders
Nancy Davis, former Chief of Public Health Nursing for the State of Alaska, and Rosemary Gruening, former Administrator of the Juneau Pioneer Home, have agreed to act as Program Director and Associate Program Director for Hospice and Home Care. The two will job share a full-time position and serve as a “bridge” to a more long-term Program Director, for which recruitment continues.
Nancy and Rosemary, both RNs, have long and storied careers in the health field, as practicing nurses and as health administrators. Nancy has been working as a substitute nurse for Hospice and Home Care for the past few months, and Rosemary worked for the program as a field nurse for three summers while she was studying for her degree.
With the absence of a Program Director for several months, Nancy and Rosemary “will have their hands full.” Grant proposals need to be written, budgets developed, staffing patterns adjusted, the program reviewed against federal and state regulations and requirements and adjustments made as necessary, marketing efforts implemented, and much, much more.
“It hasn’t taken too many days on the job to recognize the extremely high quality professional services provided by staff here at Hospice and Home Care,” Rosemary noted. “We have a very dedicated staff who work very, very hard under oftentimes very trying circumstances. I am proud to again be a part of this very professional and caring group of people.”
On behalf of CCS staff, especially Hospice and Home Care staff who have been waiting for some time for a Director, welcome Nancy and Rosemary. We look forward to working with you, and we are confident that you will bring the program to where it needs to be.
