Southeast Senior Services is looking for a part-time Counselor (40 hours per month) to help Kake elders and provide support for their family caregivers. Responsibilities include travel to the village of Kake once a month, providing individual counseling for elders, individual and group counseling for family caregivers, training in elder care, and documenting work with clients. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, cultural attunement, and previous experience working with elders are strongly desired. Training in local issues and family caregiver support/issues provided. A master’s degree in social work, psychology, gerontology or closely related field and a minimum of one year of experience in direct service delivery in a related field is preferred.
